The CYLP program is a six-month internship program for Canadian youth originally from, or living in, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon, or northern Quebec and Labrador.



Looking for an exciting and rewarding international or domestic work experience?

Are you a young Canadian from the North under the age of 30?

The Circumpolar Young Leaders Program provides northern youth with training and work experience at leading organizations in Arctic countries and/or with organizations in the south working on Arctic issues.

As a circumpolar young leader, you will have the opportunity to:

  • live and work in another Arctic country and or live and work in southern Canada

  • build on your current college or university education through applied research and communications on Arctic issues;

  • contribute to the work of the Arctic Council;

  • gain leadership skills;

  • develop valuable relationships with other young northern Canadians;

  • grow personally and professionally; and

  • help to build a sustainable future for the circumpolar region.
