This site was developed by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) , through funding provided by the Canadian Network for the Advancement of Research, Industry and Education (CANARIE).

Portions of the learning modules are based on the Sustainable Development Tool Kit (Washington: Global Tomorrow Coalition, 1995), the copyright to which is now jointly held by IISD and the Academy for Educational Development. We have also drawn upon IISD's own research, and upon materials provided with permission by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, National Wildlife Federation, and others.

Policies in the Policy Bank have been provided by the institutions of higher education, University Leaders for a Sustainable Future, and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges. The Policy Evaluation Instrument was designed by IISD, through the Great Plains Sustainable Regional Development Program.

IISD's Sustainable Development on Campus Tool Kit has been compiled in support of a Memorandum of Understanding between IISD, the International Association of Universities (IAU), and the Earth Council, in which the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) has also participated, to assist institutions of higher education to meet the challenges of the Kyoto Declaration.
