The United Nations Environment Programme Division of Policy Development and Law (DPDL) and IISD are developing policy options aimed at helping governments integrate environmental priorities into central social and economic processes such as poverty reduction strategies and comprehensive development frameworks. This includes advancing our knowledge about the links between poverty and the environment and identifying ways to expand human capabilities for a better quality of life.

In support of this work, new publications from various United Nations agencies, policy research institutes and the academic literature are being tracked in a searchable database. This database specifically provides information on new publications related to DPDL's focus and on topics such as poverty and environment, health, water, urban development, energy, Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers and the Millennium Development Goals. It also includes publications specific to the following countries: Mauritania, Mali, Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania.
