Issue #10 - Ethics & Sustainable Development
In this issue, we explore five hot ideas linking ethics and sustainability. DI#1 looks at an emerging international charter for the Earth, aimed at articulating a common set of 'Earth ethics' acceptable to all peoples. DI#2, Embodied Curricula, signals an effort to make the values that schools teach more consistent with the behaviour they practice. DI#3 examines the enormous potential of the world's major religions in promoting sustainable development. DI#4 tracks an upswing in recent activity to emphasize ethics at the World Bank and other institutions. And DI#5 explores some hopeful signs that an historic shift in global consciousness is taking place to a new ecologically-inspired, post-industrial paradigm.
