CRiSTAL runs on Microsoft Excel. To download the current version of CRiSTAL, click on one of the links above and save the file on your computer.

In consultation with community members and project leaders and designers, move through the tool step-by-step. Consultations are central to the effective use of CRiSTAL. These can range from informal discussions to organized workshops, and the information gathered during these consultations will inform CRiSTAL’s analysis.

The Excel version of the tool can be used directly with communities and project managers, moving through the two modules as a group, or you can bring to the field only the User’s Manual (below) and/or Field Manual (will be available here soon) and afterwards input the collected data into the CRiSTAL Excel document. Regardless of which approach is taken, multiple consultations will be needed to ensure that you engage different gender, economic and social groups.
