Why are We Working in Chile?
One of the primary reasons for our project is to help to enable Chile's transportation sector professionals to participate in the development and implementation of potential CDM projects. The project aims to meet stakeholder needs by:
-
sharing updates and opportunities for feedback about the ongoing development of three case studies identified by the Steering Committee;
-
providing resource information to those stakeholders interested in learning more about the issues addressed by the project; and
-
gauging stakeholder interest and information needs to make interactions more effective and useful.
Targeted initiatives such as the workshops in Spring 2004 will provide a more structured opportunity for information sharing and discussion on the topic of potential CDM projects in the transport sector.
Online Survey
Please take a moment to complete the online survey (Español) for the project.
As part of the project's outreach initiatives, we are conducting a survey with the aim of:
-
gauging the level of understanding within the Chile transportation sector on the issues of climate change, the Kyoto Protocol and the CDM in order to provide expertise in the areas where more information is needed so that institutions are able to support CDM transport projects;
-
providing stakeholders with the background information to develop/design, evaluate and facilitate CDM projects;
-
facilitating modellers and land use experts to identify CDM opportunities and to recognize how these opportunities may be quantified; and
-
providing technical assistance to agencies in developing mechanisms for encouraging project proposals, and developing project evaluation criteria and review processes that are consistent with CDM rules.
