Kerryn Lang

» Project Manager

Kerryn Lang is a Project Manager for the Global Subsidies Initiative based in Geneva. She has developed and managed GSI’s policy research and outreach projects to support fossil-fuel subsidy reform in Indonesia, India and Bangladesh. Kerryn helped develop the GSI’s methodology for identifying, quantifying and assessing subsidies for the exploration and production of oil and gas, including managing three country studies in Indonesia, Canada and Norway.

Kerryn has helped the GSI to champion fossil-fuel subsidy reform in international forums such as the G-20, APEC, UNFCCC and UNCSD, and support the Friends of Fossil-Fuel Subsidy Reform group of countries. In addition, Kerryn has led projects for inter-governmental organisations including the OECD, World Bank and Asia Development Bank.

Before joining IISD, Kerryn worked as a consultant with the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO) in Geneva and spent several years as International Adviser on trade and environment policy for New Zealand’s Ministry for the Environment. Kerryn has also been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Wellington High Court, New Zealand.
