Kate Harris

Kate Harris is a scientist, wilderness conservationist, adventurer and writer hailing from rural Ontario. She has a B.Sc. in biology from UNC-Chapel Hill and an M.Sc. in geology from MIT. She also earned an M.Phil. at Oxford, where she wrote her thesis on the relationship between transboundary protected areas (TBPAs) and conflict resolution, focused on the Siachen glacier dispute in Kashmir. Kate remains actively engaged in TBPA issues, particularly in mountainous regions. She loves to explore the most alien and extreme places on the planet, advocate for their conservation, and write about them. More details here: http://www.kateharris.ca/
