Our vision: Better living for all—sustainably
Our mission: To champion innovation, enabling societies to live sustainably
The work of the International Institute for Sustainable Development is made possible through the generosity of a growing number of partners and supporters that share the Institute's goals and objectives. We are pleased to acknowledge their role in IISD's successes.
IISD receives funding from a variety of public and private sources to finance specific research projects relating to its strategic objectives. Projects may carry on over more than one year.

In 2004 the IISD Innovation Fund was established to receive contributions that are to be used in developing new ideas for a better world and to meet the needs of the future. The Innovation Fund provides IISD researchers with intellectual venture capital to push the boundaries of innovation with a flexibility that is typically not present in conventional funding mechanisms.
