Julie is a climate risk adaptation specialist with research and project management experience at the international level. Most of her research and work has focused on climate risk management and adaptation to multiple risks in the context of climate variability and change in Africa and Asia. She has extensive experience in using participatory approaches to support climate risk mainstreaming, as well as working with both communities and government officials on climate risk planning. Julie joined IISD as a project manager for the Climate Change and Energy Program in 2010 and is based in our Geneva office.

Prior to joining IISD, Julie worked in Kathmandu, Nepal, as the Team Leader on Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience of the Integrated Water and Hazard Management Programme of ICIMOD, a regional knowledge centre serving the Hindu Kush Himalaya region.
