Senior Infrastructure Finance Specialist
Fida Rana is an infrastructure finance and policy expert with more than 15 years of global infrastructure finance experience. Fida has been a pioneer in structuring infrastructure finance transactions in many countries, including developing economies, and has experience with a wide variety of industries such as energy, transport, natural resources and social infrastructure.
Fida’s recent work focuses on policies to promote sustainable infrastructure finance, developing de-risking tools to facilitate private capital for low-carbon infrastructure projects and assisting smaller municipalities to access private infrastructure finance. Fida is a regular speaker at international conferences and workshops on public-private partnerships (PPP), infrastructure finance and policy issues. He writes frequently on contemporary policy matters affecting infrastructure development.
Prior to joining IISD, Fida worked for the Islamic Development Bank, the World Bank and U.K.-based Standard Chartered Bank. An alumni of Henley Business School of the University of Reading, Fida holds bachelor degree in Economics and two Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Investment Banking respectively.
