Tom Rotherham


Tom Rotherham is a Consultant with the IISD Trade and Investment Programme, where he manages IISD's work in the area of standardization and market access. Tom has also held posts at IUCN-The World Conservation Union and at INSEAD, the European Business School, as well as consulting on standardization and market access for UNEP, the OECD, UNCTAD, the World Commission on Dams, the Mining, Minerals and Sustainable Development Initiative, and the International Hydropower Association. IISD's work on standardization and market access focuses both on international trade and investment policy and capacity building in Africa, Asia and South America. IISD is also actively involved in the work of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), including in ISO's technical committee on environmental management and ISO's strategic advisory group on corporate social responsibility. IISD is also implementing a Swiss-backed project to develop a management tool to help organizations understand and implement the Convention on Biological Diversity's provisions on Access & Benefit Sharing for genetic resources.
