David C. Korten is President and founder of the People-Centered Development Forum, an organization dedicated to advancing people-centered development through a growing citizen's movement toward a just, inclusive and sustainable society.

David Korten is a visiting professor at the Asian Institute of Management and a former faculty member of Harvard University's graduate schools of business and public health. He was a staff member of the Ford Foundation and an advisor to the United States Agency for International Development. His recent book, Getting to the 21st Century, Voluntary Action and the Global Agenda, is recognized as an important contribution to international dialogue on development. He has more than 30 years of field experience in Asia, Africa and Latin America as a writer, teacher and development consultant.
