Shaukat Hassan

Shaukat Hassan, a Bangladeshi citizen, is currently the Director of Global Affairs Research Partners, an Ottawa-based consulting firm on international security issues. He previously served as special assistant to two Presidents in Bangladesh, and has been closely involved in both international and domestic conflict mediation efforts. He has taught at a number of universities and held research fellowships at several centers of advanced research including the Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security, the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London and the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic studies. He regularly contributes to professional journals, magazines and newspapers.

Dr. Hassan's interest range from global security, regional stability, ethnic and religious upheavals, environmental concerns, empowerment of women, safety of children in conflict zones to innovative approaches to conflict mitigation and reform of the UN.
