Brief Description
This is a network of independent coffee growers consisting of 98 regional organizations representing close to 60,000 growers and 12.5% of Mexico's coffee production. Formed over ten years ago, their strategy was to take control of production, industrialization and marketing, as well as the financial vehicles. CNOC promotes organic coffee growing, stimulates local development through collective capitalization and represents the needs of its farmer owner members to governments and in international fora. It has raised the standard of living of thousands of peasant farmers in Mexico.
